We're looking for an amazing junior character rigger to join our animation programming team. This role requires a technically skilled Maya character rigger with a broad background in rigging different types of characters and creatures. You will be required to work with various programming and art departments, including the animation technical director to ensure a consistently high level of quality and creativity to develop bespoke animation technologies and processes for our leading game platforms. Good knowledge of Maya and an understanding of the animation pipeline including high-quality game character development and various types of rigging tools and techniques are essential

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out various biped and creature rigging tasks to ensure your work supports both our animators and our game assets.
  • Work with animation tech director and programmers to establish animation/rigging process, better workflow, and in-house animation pipeline.
  • Enhance the visual quality of rigs and skin deformations according to technical specifications.
  • Support for setup, export, import, and testing in-game assets.
  • Debugging any animation and rigging-related issues.

Requirements

    • Ability to create high-quality characters & creature rigs for animation.
    • A rigging showreel that demonstrates a fair understanding of character rigging principles.
    • Hard surface and organic modeling using Maya or 3dsmax for character modeling, blend shapes, and props creation.
    • Good knowledge of Maya.
    • A keen eye for anatomy and form for skin deformation quality.
